Canadian citizens and permanent residents can sponsor eligible family members to become permanent residents of Canada.
Processing Time
12 months for spouse/partner/child; 20-24 months for parents/grandparents
Cost
1050 CAD (sponsorship fee + processing fee) + 85 CAD (biometrics) + 500 CAD (right of permanent residence fee)
📋Requirements
- Sponsor must be Canadian citizen or permanent resident
- Sponsor must meet minimum income requirements (except spouse/partner sponsorship)
- Sponsor must sign undertaking to financially support family member
- Sponsored person must undergo medical examination, security checks
- Relationship must be genuine
- Documentation proving relationship
- For spouse/partner: marriage certificate or proof of common-law relationship
- For children: birth certificates showing parentage
- Biometrics (fingerprints and photo)
